Wanderers Young Cricketers Programme

The Wanderers Young Cricketers Programme shows our commitment to supporting a wider range of young cricketers in Wellington.

We support young cricketers from areas and schools that don't get the same opportunities that players from more established cricket schools get.

Wanderers Young Cricketers will have the chance to work with some of Wellington's best coaches and players over the course of the season, who will be able to inspire, advise, support, and guide them along their path.

How the programme works

Wanderers CC select 16-20 secondary school students each season from schools that might not have access to the same levels of resources and support that other schools with more established cricket Programmes get.

Over the season, our Wanderers Young Cricketers Players receive 12 hours of group coaching. Working with a variety of Wellington’s best coaches and past players.

Each Wanderers Young Cricketer also receives the chance to take the field in a fixture for the Wanderers CC throughout the season.

2023-24 Programme

The Wanderers Young Cricketers Programme for the 2023-24 season is thrilled to introduce a promising group of young talents who are poised to make a mark in the cricketing landscape. They represent a diverse range of schools across the Wellington Region. We are immensely proud of these young cricketers and are excited to witness their growth and achievements in the upcoming season.
